Jüngling mit Blattkranz

1. Viertel 5. Jh. v. Chr.

This head of a young man originally belonged to a smaller-than-life votive statue. The characteristic features are a round, full facial form with a low brow, straight nose and slightly protruding chin. The almond-shaped eyes are embedded flat, the arched eyebrows contoured. The faintly smiling mouth is closed. The face is framed by spiral curls of hair, above which is a band consisting of highly stylized laurel leaves.
