Form eines Vogels

1800 - 1625 v. Chr.

Bird shape; pressed body with flattened bottom and angularly carinated, round top; slanted, short, cylindrical neck with spout on the front edge of the top; opposite on the rear, a small tail-like appendage. An angular, pierced handle is on the middle of the back. Five notched knobs are on the side of the neck as well as on the edge of the shoulder below the spout and along the transverse axis. Painted decoration in brown to black: the top of the askos is divided into four fields with a lattice pattern by a framed, wavy line along the transverse axis and a straight, simple line along the axis of the handle; circumambient line along the edge of the shoulder. The base is completely painted. Along the neck and spout are seven parallel, horizontal lines; on the underside of the spout are slanted lines, which are cut on the front and back by a simple vertical line. The edge of the spout, the knobs and the top side of the handle are outlined.
