Upper part of the stele of Tani

late 25th to early 26th Dynasty, ca. 660–650 BC

The winged sun disk in the gable of the stele is a common protective symbol. Below it three divinities are depicted: the god Osiris as a mummy, falcon-headed Horus, and the goddess Isis. The woman who dedicated the stele presents offerings to them. The lower part of the stele with the rest of the text is in Cairo’s Egyptian Museum.
