Stele of Hor-em-akhet

The stele was erected for Hor-em-akhet who occupied the important post of High Priest of Ptah, the god of Memphis. During the Ptolemaic Period Memphis was the most important city of Egypt except for Alexandria. The stele bears a twelve-line text, distinguished by especially detailed and artfully executed hieroglyphs, rather than representations.
