Squatting statue of Nimlot
22nd Dynasty, reign of Osorkon I, 910–896 BC
Nimlot was a son of Shoshenq I, the founder of the 22nd Dynasty. Under his successor Osorkon I, Nimlot served as the head of the army in Hera kleopolis. The shape of the statue is reminiscent of a squared up block. Its surface is covered with inscriptions, and there are depictions of gods as well: AmunRe on the front, falconheaded ReHarakhty below the right shoulder, and Ptah on the left side.
