Fragmentary archi- trave of Seshemu

6th Dynasty, ca. 2374-2191 BC;

The scene to the right shows a couple sharing a low seat. The absence of lower legs and feet from the woman’s figure is a stylistic feature of the late Old Kingdom. In the fragmentary left-hand section of the architrave another offering table scene is partly preserved. Once it showed the tomb owner Seshemu and his wife at table.
