Modell des Artemisionaltares.Plexiglas, weiß gespritzt

4. Jh. v. Chr.

The model depicts a possible reconstruction of the altar of the late classical Temple of Artemis. A lavishly embellished wall enclosed the paved area where sacrifices in honour of the goddess were performed. Of the few extant building components the base (designed to resemble wooden slats) with surmounting profile, a relief from a frieze depicting Amazons, and some Ionian capitals and architraves from the upper storey are on show here.
