Naophorous statue
22nd Dynasty 931–725 BC
The kneeling figure wears the costume of a High Priest of Memphis that includes a panther skin, a side-lock, and a special neck ornament. The naos he holds contains a figure of a falcon-headed deity (in all likelihood, Sokar-Osiris). The inscriptions are offering formulas invoking the gods Ptah, Osiris-Khentamentiu, and Sokar-Osiris.
