Büste, Faun, Vexierkopf, Vexierbüste

Spätes 16. Jahrhundert

Like a picture puzzle this marble bust of Faun contains several faces: one like a mask is hidden in the wrinkles of the neck, an other one can only be seen when the bust is turned upside down. Faun was the old Italian god of fertility, later he was put on a level with Pan.
