Spielbrett, Tric Track, Mühle, Backgammon

um 1550 | Johann Kayser

This game plate is made out of two pieces. The special yellow-white limestone from Kehlheim (Bavaria, Germany) was used for it. The board was for backgammon. The game stones have not survived. The inscription in the middle contains the advice of Aristoteles teaching Alexander the Great: like a prince also the gambler has to control his emotions.
