Harnisch

datiert 1612 | Johann Hauer

The armour that belonged to the castle guard of Nuremberg consists of older parts and was decorated with unified flower- and tendril-etchings. The representative halberd described the rank of a non-commissioned corporal. According to Emperor Ferdinand II’s (1578–1637) uniform regulations of 1620 the halberds had to be perforated.
