Amor mit Flammenkeule auf einem Löwen reitend, Statuette, Kleinbronze, Amor

Ende 16. Jahrhundert | Nicolo Roccatagliata

This bronze statuette is Amor, the Roman god of love. It‘s unusual that he is shown holding a club in his hand and riding on the back of a jumping lion. A quiver belt can be seen on his breast. Everybody who is hit by one of his arrows into the heart falls in love with the person he sees at that moment.
