Two persons sitting side by side

late 6th Dynasty to 1st Intermediate Period, ca. 2374-2040 BC;

The rather crude style of the figures is characteristic for the end of the Old Kingdom and the First Intermediate Period. The modeling of the abdomen around the navels of both figures is unusual. The relationship between the man and woman is unclear because the group is uninscribed and comes from a tomb without any inscriptions.
