Stele of Prince Seneb

13th Dynasty, reign of Sebekhotep III, ca. 1749-1747 BC

The wedjat-eyes and ankh-sign in the rounded gable are protective symbols. Seneb, a brother of King Sobekhotep III, stands with arms raised in prayer in front of the god Min who wears a crown with two feathers. The man behind Seneb, an administrator of royal provisions named Kai-wah, commissioned the stele.
