Stehende Frau
um 500 v. Chr.
Figurine of a standing, draped female figure. Mold-made, hollow with a vent-hole at the back of the torso. She is standing on a rectangular plinth. The back is plain, the front part is richly decorated in relief. The facial characteristics are carefully rendered. A fringe of curly hair appears along the forehead below a conical veil. Long hair falls on both shoulders. She is wearing three necklaces with pendants. She also seems to wear earrings that are hardly visible. Both arms are bent to support the breasts. Around her waist she carries a number of looped seals (?) above a flap of dress reaching her knees. Below this flap appear two vertical parallel straps of cloth with tassels and horizontal grooves. The feet that appear below the edge of the long garment have grooved toes and seem to wear sandals.
