Marienkrönung
um 1500
The altar shows the Coronation of St. Mary by Godfather and -son (the crown is not preserved). In a niche on the left side there is Christ as »Ecce homo«, standing on a column wearing the crown of thorns and showing his cicatrices. In the niche on the right side there is Mary of Magdala, the witness of the crucifixion and funeral of Christ. The shrine statues made of lime wood and the chest made of spruce wood were never coloured. Only the eyes are painted, which was quite usual in the South German area between 1470 and 1530.
