Double box-like coffin

end of the 5th to beginning of the 6th Dynasty, ca. 2450–2350 BC

The skeleton of the tomb owner was found in the inner coffin that fits exactly inside the outer coffin. Also on exhibition are remains of the funerary jewelry – a diadem, a collar-like necklace, and a bracelet – found with it. Dummy vessels, miniature tools, and animal bones lay alongside the coffin ensemble.
