Deckelpokal, Gefäß, Becher, Deckelbecher

2. Hälfte 17. Jahrhundert

The goblet was probably produced in Innsbruck or Freiburg in the Breisgau region. The stonecutters did not use tenon joints and connecting sleeves, thus they were able to give their rock crystal goblets a consistent appearance, similar to glass art. The unique shape suggests that the goblet was made by the crystal cutters who worked at Innsbruck’s court. The cup was made for every day usage; therefore it is not mentioned in the inventories of Ambras Castle.
