Tomb relief

5th Dynasty or later, ca. 2514-2191 BC

This fragmentary relief and another were found reused for closing the tomb shaft S 735. The heads probably come from an offering tablet scene which showed a man and a woman seated in front of an offering table. In front of their faces there is a short list of offerings. The headband with lotus blossoms is a woman’s accessory which was also worn by men.
