Ornamentbänder
1450 - 1300 v. Chr.
The gray-brown glaze and the broad framework of the ornamental bands characterize developed white slip II ware. These semi-globular bowls, usually called milk bowls in English terminology, are the most frequent form within this type. Presumably they were used as drinking vessels: Flat, semi-globular bowl with round bottom and horizontal, triangular wishbone handle. Below the lip, horizontal, circumambient band with cross-hatching, from which groups of three vertical, decorative bands with cross-hatching and lattice pattern descend. At the base of the handle, circumambient line of varnish; underneath, simple strokes emphasize the triangular outline of the handle; on the top, short groups of strokes; at the tip of the handle, a small circle.
