Christus am Kreuz, Schmelzglasbild, Glasbild

This glass picture, presenting the crucifixion scene, is following in style and form a number of similar glass objects, which are still existing in the Ambras Kunstkammer. The decoration, the figures and sceneries are quite characteristic and close to works from the court’s glassworks in Innsbruck, established in the 3rd quarter of the 16th century by Archduke Ferdinand II.
