This scene made of coral and gypsum was originally shown in a cabinet and is mentioned in the inventory of estate in 1596. Hercules, the son of Jupiter and a mortal woman, was the favourite hero of the Greek mythology. He had to do nearly insoluble jobs, like fighting against the nine headed hydra.
