Statue group of Meri-ptah, Sa-aset, and Kafi

19th Dynasty, reign of Ramesses II, 1304–1237 BC

The statue once stood in a niche in the tomb of the royal official Meri-ptah at Sheikh Abd el-Qurna; he is the man in the center. As “Royal Scribe of the Table of the Lord of the Two Lands” Meri-ptah was responsible for supplying food to the court. His mother Kafi sits at his left; his brother Sa-aset (Siese) is to his right.
