Kore

1. Hälfte 5. Jh. v. Chr.

Figurine of a standing, draped female figure of the Greek kore type. Mold-made, flat, with plain back side. The features of the face are not very clearly rendered because it was made in an old mold. Large almond-shaped eyes. The hair seems to have been held with a fillet. She wears a chiton and himation, the latter richly folded. The chiton seems to have been short-sleeved. She bends the right arm against the chest and holds an object (a flower?) between the breasts. Bracelet around the wrist. The left arm is stretched along the side of the body and with the left hand she holds the drapery. The figure may have been standing on a plinth, now destroyed. No traces of painted decoration.
