So wie die Diplomaten behielten auch die Beamten der kaiserlichen Kabinettskanzlei bis 1918 jene Uniformen, die bereits Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts eingeführt worden waren. Sie trugen daher keine Waffenröcke, sondern Fräcke, deren Stickereimuster Aufschluss über ihre Dienststelle gab. Der Reichtum der Stickerei zeigte hingegen den Rang des Trägers an. Die Knöpfe der Uniformen der Kabinettskanzlei waren nicht wie sonst mit dem habsburgischen Doppeladler, sondern mit dem Monogramm des Kaisers verziert. (MKR)
