Gala-Uniform eines Herrn und Landmann in Tirol

Während der Napoleonischen Kriege wurde den Landständen der einzelnen Kronländer das Tragen von Gala- Uniformen bewilligt, die so wie die Nationaltracht als angemessene Kleidung galten, um bei Hof zu erscheinen. Wir zeigen hier die Uniform des Tiroler Adels, die von Baron Karl Sternbach (1801-1848) getragen wurde. Zu ihr gehört ein Frack aus rotem Tuch mit Kragen und Manschetten aus grünem Samt mit Goldstickerei, dessen Knöpfe und Epauletten mit dem Tiroler Adler verziert sind. Ergänzt wird das Ensemble durch eine Hose aus weißem Tuch mit goldenem Lampass und einen Zweispitz mit schwarzen Straußenfedern. (MKR)
