Upper part from the statue of a king (Seti I?)

19th Dynasty, reign of Seti I, ca. 1314–1304 BC (?)

The text remaining on the back pillar does not include identification of the king depicted, but the features and style suggest it is Seti I, who is protectively enveloped by the wings of the fal con god Horus atop the back pillar. Horus, the mythical ancestor of the pharaohs, was wor shipped as a solar god and god of the heavens since late predynastic times.
