Stele of Pes-heres

early 27th Dynasty, ca. 525–500 BC

Under the arched sky-hieroglyph and a winged sun disk, the overseer of purification priests Pes-heres reveres Osiris and his sister Isis. The offering formula below is addressed to the god Osiris-Apis-Khentimenti with an epithet – “Lord of Rosetau” – which refers to Memphis, or rather to Saqqara, the probable origin of the stele.
