Offering table
3rd century BC – 1st century AD
Each channel of this tripartite, slab-like offering table opens into its own basin. It was set up so that water poured over it flowed away from the deceased. Various items are depicted to supply symbolically the table of the deceased: bread, a leg of beef, a tall vessel with a spout for offering water, and beer jugs in ring stands.
