Majolikateller, Teller, Platte, Schüssel, Majolika, Urteil des Paris

Anfang 17. Jahrhundert | Francesco Patanazzi

The majolica-plate made in the early 17th century shows the judgement of Paris after an engraving made by Marcantonio Raimondi, who was orientated to Raffael. On account of a similar plate in Braunschweig this one can be attributed to the workshop of the faiencer Francesco Patanazzi of Urbino. The Ambras Kunstkammer housed in the so called "porcelain board" a large number of such majolicas, plates, juges, bowsl. Some of these pieces are preserved today in the MAK, Museum of applied art/contemporary art in Vienna.
