Ende 16. Jahrhundert | Deutsch

Jan Zizka (1364–1424), a Bohemian General in the Hussite Wars was infamous because of his cruelty against the clergy. Archduke Ferdinand II appreciated Zizka because he had made up an effective Army from farmers and townsfolk. Ferdinand owned another smallformat triangle portrait in his armouries and a not preserved sword. The inscription on the top of the portrait names the shown person as »Joanes Zisska Trocznow Superbie Simulet Avariciae Clericorum Severus Ultor«.
