Crumhorn (tenor)

16th century | I. Milla

The crumhorn SAM 203 catches the eye of the visitor because of its individual design. The narrow, zylindrical main bore widens abruptly in the area of the extremely unusal added joint (holes of the little finger) and continues into the detachable bell with a tulip shaped inner form. The windcap of this instrument made of boxwood (instead of maple) is not original. (bd)
