Was ist Schönheit – und wie haben sich Schönheitsideale im Laufe der Zeit gewandelt?
Diesen Fragen widmet sich die aktuelle Ambraser Sonderausstellung The Art of Beauty, die seit Juni in Innsbruck zu sehen ist. Sie beleuchtet Körper- und Schönheitspflege von der Antike bis ins 18. Jahrhundert und spannt – mit einem kritischen Blick auf Themen wie body positivity und body shaming – den Bogen bis in die Gegenwart.
Der Vortrag von Katharina Seidl gewährt Einblicke in die Entstehung der Ausstellung „behind the scenes“ und gibt einen Ausblick darauf, wie die „Ambraser Schönheitsforschung“ nach der Ausstellung weitergeführt wird.

Ein Vortrag im Rahmen der Sonderausstellung The Art of Beauty, nur noch bis 5. Oktober 2025 auf Schloss Ambras Innsbruck!

Für die Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung ist ein gültiges Museumsticket notwendig. Für Jahreskartenbesitzer*innen, Members, Ambassadors sowie ICOM-Mitglieder ist die Teilnahme kostenlos.
