Table Fountain in the Form of a Lion-Dragon, ca. 1650
The lion-dragon on a base with four wheels is composed of multiple, hollowed-out rock crystal elements. At the table, it probably functioned as a fountain. If an ignorant guest pressed the lever on the animal’s breast, water, invisible within the rock crystal, would spray unexpectedly from the three nozzles located behind it.
