Statuette, Kleinbronze, Bronze, Taschenkrebs

Anfang 16. Jahrhundert

The edible crab made of bronze was used as inkpot. The special casting (stil rustique) was made in Padova: Normally, the dead animals were covered with clay, dried and baked in an oven until they were burned out. So a very realistic and detailed hollow mould was created.
