The research project deals with the most important surviving wax object from the Imperial Treasury, an allegory of the death of Emperor Ferdinand III by Daniel Neuberger. A search for clues led to the realisation that the current appearance of the artwork, which is highly glittering and sparkling due to mica coatings, has almost nothing in common with the artist's original surface design. But who carried out the drastic remodelling of the artwork and how is it dealt with today? Find out more about this exciting restoration project!
