Restoration of the historical wall and ceiling paintings in the AEOS - Part II

After extensive preparatory work, the restoration of the historical wallpaper and ceiling paintings in Room I of the Egyptian and Near Eastern Collection began at the beginning of May. Some of the wallpaper has been removed and is being restored in the workshop before being reinstalled on the cleaned and smoothed walls. At the same time as the restoration work on the wallpaper, the cleaning of the ceiling paintings and the paintings on the window front is also progressing. Once the work in Room I has been completed, the restoration work will continue in Room V.
