The history of the Coin Cabinet goes back some 500 years and it has developed from a cabinet of rarities into a well-organised scientific instrument. Today, the collection runs its own projects and is also a key stakeholder in numerous international projects.
The lecture by Collection Director Klaus Vondrovec is dedicated to the outgoing Director General Sabine Haag and outlines the current research strategy of the Coin Cabinet.
