Notes about some of my artefacts
Lecture by provenance researcher Monika Löscher
(in German language)

The Rothschild art collections in Vienna were the first case dealt with by the Art Restitution Advisory Board in 1999. At that time, a total of 251 objects from the Austrian federal museums were recommended for restitution to the legal successors. A printed catalogue of the extensive Nathaniel Rothschild art collection dating back to 1903 went unnoticed; this came to the Kunsthistorisches Museum in 1938 in the course of the confiscation and a dossier was presented at the last meeting of the Advisory Board. On the occasion of the International Day of Provenance Research on 13 April 2022, the results of the last 24 years of provenance research and new findings in the Rothschild case will be presented.
