Lecture by Franz Kirchweger, Curator of the Imperial Treasury Vienna, on pictorial and textual sources relating to the Imperial Crown of Vienna.

The current research on the Imperial Crown of Vienna, the CROWN research project, combines questions of material and conservation science with those on the ‘fate’ of the crown in the course of its long history of use, which saved it from destruction, but at the same time led to changes, damage and repairs that characterise its appearance today. Historical image and text sources provide important and interesting information on this, which will be the focus of Franz Kirchweger's lecture.
