A pioneer of the Dürer revival. Or: Who was FH?

(in German language)

The exhibition Ansichtssache #24, which will be on display at the Kunsthistorisches Museum from 21 May, presents the little-known wings of a triptych that incorporate numerous works by Dürer and were therefore long regarded as typical examples of the ‘Dürer Renaissance’ that flourished around 1600. A more recent examination of the oak boards used as supports not only suggests that they must have been created much earlier; several other works can also be attributed to the same artist, one of which bears the monogram ‘FH’. We cordially invite you to join us on an exciting art-historical journey from Nuremberg to the Netherlands!
