Vase of Flowers

The workshop of the Miseroni family was founded in 1588 under Emperor Rudolph II in Prague, and supplied the house of Habsburg with precious stone works over many generations. Dionysio Miseroni continued the consummate achievements of his father Ottavio, but allowed the natural, blocklike forms of the stones greater influence on the size and appearance of the vessels. Where necessary and desired, goldsmiths added striking mounts.
