Table Clock, so-called Mirror Clock

ca. 1670 | Monogrammist IH

In the 17th century, Augsburg was the leading production centre for innovative and elaborately configured clocks. David Buschmann, one of the most renowned clockmakers of the city, created works of great technical refinement. On the unusual column clocks, for example, the hour indicator advances by spiralling upward. Joiners and goldsmiths created the cases from materials such as ebony, tortoise shell and silver.
