Personal Victoria à la Daumont

This two-seater carriage which was driven with an open top is recognisable as a high-ranking court carriage by its undercarriage with perch and crane-necks, the double suspension and the lavish gold-plating. It was made available to foreign potentates on visits to Austria and was for instance used in Bad Ischl by the future King Edward VII of England and in Vienna by Kaiser Wilhelm II. Like W 29 it was drawn by four or six horses "à la Daumont" and driven by mounted coachmen ("jockeys"). (MKR)
