Köcher, Bogenköcher
16. Jahrhundert
Turcica — Ottoman booty like circular shields, bows, quivers, sabres and burgeons (chichaks) reminded of Ferdinand’s II Turkish campaign of 1556 and also showed the collector’s fascination for the precious materials and the high technical quality of the Turkish objects. Special Türkenkammern (Turkish chambers) with Ottoman booty, diplomatic presents and purchases of art were typical of early modern armouries of European princes.
