The lidded ibex horn jug was a typical craftwork made in Salzburg. Like most of these ibex horn-carvings, the Horn was said to indicate poison, so it was often used for drinking vessels. The three-dimensional lids and the reliefs on the walls of the vessel show hunting scenes.
