Christ with the Globe

Luminously gleaming and reflecting, the globe symbolises and alludes to the universal validity of the Lord’s salvation: the scale of the “salvator mundi” corresponds to an image of Christ that is full of majesty and kindness. His hand protectively placed on the globe, He thereby expresses His claim to be ruler of the whole world. The reflection of light on the glass globe hints at God as the creator of light.
