Die 1760 gegründete königlich-ungarische Leibgarde erfüllte die gleichen Aufgaben wie die Arcièren-Leibgarde, war dieser aber im Rang nachgestellt. Ihre außergewöhnlich prächtige Uniform besteht aus einem Waffenrock (Attila) und einer Stiefelhose aus rotem Tuch mit Silberborten, Silberposamentrie und Silberverschnürung. Besonders eindrucksvoll ist das echte, über die Schulter geworfene Leopardenfell, das durch den Kopf mit Glasaugen und Tatzen aus ziseliertem Silber zusätzliches Leben erhält. Gemeinsam mit der in ungarischem Stil gehaltenen Mütze (Kalpak) mit breitem Pelzbesatz, geflochtener Goldschnur und angestecktem Federbuschen trägt es wesentlich zum martialisch-schönen Erscheinungsbild der Uniform bei. Ergänzt wird das Ensemble durch einen Gürtel aus Silberposamentrie, einen Säbel aus Stahl und Stiefel (Csizmen) aus gelbem Saffianleder. (MKR)
