Hyksoszeit, um 1600 v. Chr., Tell el-Daba, A/I-g/4, Grab 1
Tell el-Daba im nordöstlichen Nildelta kann mit Auaris, der Hauptstadt der Hyksos, identifiziert werden. Die Hyksos waren Asiaten, die aus dem syrisch-palästinensischen Gebiet nach Ägypten einwanderten. Sie herrschten in der sogenannten Zweiten Zwischenzeit über einen Großteil Ägyptens. Diese Kanne wurde zwar in einem Hyksos-Grab im ägyptischen Nildelta gefunden, sie ist aber ein Importstück aus Zypern. Handel zwischen Ägypten und den umliegenden Gebieten war in allen Zeiten üblich. Das handgemachte Gefäß hat einen runden Körper, einen Henkel und einen kleinen Ausguß. Die rotbraun aufgemalten Streifen und Wellenlinien sind charakteristisch für diese Art von zyprischer Keramik.
