26th Dynasty, reigns of Psammetichus I and II, 664–589 BC, Presumably from Sais
This stone slab, decorated on both sides, served as a half-height wall between two columns of a pavilion. Psammetichus II prays and performs the New Year’s ritual. The various scenes show the king asking the gods depicted for the annual inundation of the Nile which brought fertile silt to the fields.
